An Expression of Gratitude

The clip was made by Nathan, a Year 12 Australian student who was part of a team of three fathers and their sons who travelled to Mozambique in April.
The Mission they chose to accept was to complete the electrical installation on a building at the Mission Educate Technical Institute.
Nathan was asked by a former student at the King of Kings School to video his expression of gratitude for the education he received, thanks to the generosity of Australian supporters.
I hope you are as impacted by his genuine appreciation as I was.
During a recent visit to Mozambique, I spoke with Castigo, a key leader in our Literacy Project, who shared a powerful story. He told me, “Mr John saved my life,” referring to one of our Australian supporters whose generosity enabled him to finish high school at the King of Kings School and then complete a law degree. Orphaned at a young age, Castigo had no education or hope, but support from one donor changed everything. Today, he is a legal advisor for Mission Educate, giving back to the very community that once seemed out of reach.
As we approach the end of the financial year, it’s easy to focus on tax deductions and overlook the personal stories behind each donation. Castigo’s journey is one of many—proof that every contribution, no matter the size, has the power to transform lives. Your support helps children gain access to education, equips youth with employment skills, and provides literacy to adults who never had the chance to learn.
While we’re grateful for the large gifts that have helped us begin building a cyclone-resistant preschool, regular donations are just as vital for sustaining our daily operations. A monthly tax-deductible gift, however small, means we can keep expanding our work and changing lives. Thank you to all who give regularly—your continued generosity makes a real and lasting difference.
You can make your tax-deductible donation here.

Dr Terry King
